Faith, Imagination, and Love
There is no shadow of doubt that can extinguish the light of my limitless potential.
This conviction forms the bedrock of my spiritual practice: an unwavering belief that the Divine Power within me can accomplish all things. Scripture affirms this truth again and again—“With God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). This week, I invite you to journey with me as we explore three foundational spiritual powers—faith, imagination, and love. Together, they form the sacred formula at the heart of New Thought teachings: Believe + Conceive = Achieve. When harmonized, these powers transform possibility into reality.
Jesus’ promise in John 14:12 sets the stage for this exploration: “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do.” This staggering declaration invites us into a co-creative partnership with the Divine, where the limitations of the material world yield to the eternal laws of Spirit. To understand how this operates, we can turn to the biblical narrative of the Temple’s construction—a story that mirrors our own inner architecture.
In Israel’s history, the people first dwelt in tents as they wandered the wilderness, unable to build a permanent dwelling for God’s presence. Later, David, though forbidden from constructing the Temple himself because of his warrior’s past, dedicated his heart to gathering resources with unwavering faith. His son Solomon, whose very name means “peace,” brought the vision into form through wisdom and love. This threefold progression—David’s faithful preparation, Solomon’s imaginative execution, and the love that bound their work together—offers us a pattern for building our own inner temple.
Faith is the unshakable foundation. Like Abraham, who “went out, not knowing where he was going” (Hebrews 11:8), faith calls us to trust the unseen. It is, as Hebrews 11:1 teaches, “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Without faith, we remain wanderers, circling in deserts of doubt. With faith, we step forward into promise, gathering our inner resources and preparing for the Divine to shape them into form. Faith is never passive—it is active trust. Just as Noah built the ark before the rain, faith compels us to act on God’s word before the evidence appears (Genesis 6:22).
Imagination is the visionary blueprint. David envisioned the Temple before it stood in stone, just as God “declares the end from the beginning” (Isaiah 46:10). Imagination is more than fantasy—it is the workshop of creation. Proverbs tells us, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7), reminding us that our inner pictures shape our outer reality. When guided by Spirit, imagination becomes holy vision. It allows us to see “a new heaven and a new earth” (Revelation 21:1) even when all around us appears barren. By directing imagination with purpose, we align with the divine creativity that first spoke the cosmos into being.
Love is the harmonizing force that brings faith and imagination into manifestation. Paul reminds us that “the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13), and that love is “the bond of perfectness” (Colossians 3:14). Love is not sentiment but divine energy, the mortar that binds our inner aspirations into outward form. Where faith lays the foundation and imagination drafts the plan, love builds the structure and sanctifies it for God’s dwelling. Jesus declared that all the law and the prophets hang on love—love of God and love of neighbor (Matthew 22:37–40). Love ensures that our spiritual achievements are not self-serving but blessings for the whole community.
To embody these powers, we can practice them daily. Begin with faith by affirming each morning: “I deny that doubt has power over me. I affirm that divine wisdom orders my steps.” Strengthen imagination by spending time visualizing your goals as complete, feeling gratitude as if they were already present. And cultivate love by pausing before every response to ask: “How would Love answer here?” In this way, every choice becomes a stone in the temple of your life.
When faith, imagination, and love converge, the divine formula—Believe + Conceive = Achieve—unlocks within us. Faith anchors us, imagination directs us, and love empowers us. Together, they reveal the alchemy of manifestation, the way Spirit works through us to birth new realities.
You are not a wanderer confined to fragile tents of uncertainty. You are a builder of eternal temples. By faith, you lay the foundation. By imagination, you design the blueprint. By love, you bring the vision into sacred form. The promise of “greater works” is not a distant ideal but your divine inheritance. “You are God’s temple, and God’s Spirit dwells in you” (1 Corinthians 3:16).
This week, I encourage you to choose one practice—affirmations of faith, visualization of divine possibility, or love-centered responses—and notice how your inner temple begins to radiate outward transformation. For when we believe with Abraham’s trust, envision with David’s clarity, and build with Solomon’s wisdom, we fulfill the law of love that makes all things possible. The temple within becomes the light without, and the words of Jesus become living truth in our hands. What greater work could there be than this?
